Paris, Jun 6 (EFE).-

Mirra Andreeva, won her first Grand Slam title at Roland Garros, defeating Poland ‘s Maja Chwalinska 6-3, 6-2 in 1 hour and 22 minutes.

​The Siberian tennis player, coached by Spaniard Conchita Martínez, became the first Russian to lift the trophy since Maria Sharapova in 2014 and the youngest winner since Monica Seles claimed her third title in 1992.

​Meanwhile, Chwalinska was the first player to reach a Roland Garros final from the qualifying round, and she electrified the tournament with her daring and unique style.

​Saturday’s match began with both players struggling, but Andreeva spiked up in the seventh game and strung together nine consecutive points that weighed heavily on her opponent.
