ICE kills another man in Maine!
New York, Jul 13 (EFE).-
A young man died this Monday in a shooting in Maine that involved US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
The incident, which resulted in a fatality, occurred this morning in Biddeford, a city in the southern part of the state, according to a Facebook post by Ryan Fecteau, Speaker of the Maine House of Representatives.
“A person was killed. ICE was involved,” the state representative wrote.
Maine State Police and the state’s Department of Public Safety headed to the scene, and the FBI is expected to investigate the case.
Meanwhile, Project Relief Maine, an immigrant advocacy and support group led by individuals of African descent, stated that the victim was a member of their organization.
“This was a young person whose life was cut short, and our community must come together to stand with their loves ones and ensure they are not alone. They must get justice,” the group wrote on Facebook.
In a subsequent statement, they confirmed the victim was a man, noted that the family is “overwhelmed,” and requested respect for their privacy, asking that they be given “the time and space they need to grieve.”
This incident follows an event just days ago in which an ICE agent killed a Mexican migrant during an arrest operation in Texas.
The deceased was identified as Lorenzo Salgado Araujo, a Mexican citizen who, according to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), was in the country without legal authorization.
At least six people have died in 2026 from gunfire involving immigration agents in the United States, including Americans Alex Pretti and Renée Good, who were killed during a large-scale operation in Minnesota in January. (EFE)
