Fher Olvera, lead singer of the Mexican band Maná, and British artist Dua Lipa cemented their musical partnership this Friday by including the band’s classic hit “Oye Mi Amor” (1992) on Dua Lipa’s new live album, “Live from Mexico,” which premiered in the country on May 22 on digital platforms.

“Singing ‘Oye Mi Amor’ with a great international artist like Dua Lipa was very special. It’s an emblematic song for Maná and for our fans around the world; it has been a fundamental part of our history as a band,” Olvera said in a statement shared with EFE.
This collaboration, which came about during the artist’s successful ‘Radical Optimism’ tour in Mexico City, features the singer from Puebla as the sole guest on this project, highlighting the strength of Spanish-language music, a strength championed by bands like Maná, founded in 1986.

For the songwriter, the song’s evolution exemplifies how Maná “continues to transcend generations and languages,” adding that “hearing it resonate with those who didn’t grow up speaking Spanish is a source of immense pride for us as Mexicans and for all of Latin music.”
Indeed, of the album’s 21 tracks, ‘Oye Mi Amor’ is the only song in Spanish and, therefore, the only one not part of Dua Lipa‘s official catalog.

With over 92 shows, the ‘Radical Optimism’ world tour showcased Dua Lipa’s multilingual side, as she performed songs in eight languages, including Spanish, which shone alongside Olvera’s voice on the night of December 2, 2025.
In fluent Spanish, the singer performed on the stage of the GNP Stadium: “Oye mi amor, no me digas que no, y vamos juntando las almas” (Hey my love, don’t tell me no, and let’s bring our souls together), the chorus of this classic from ‘¿Dónde jugarán los niños?’ (Where Will the Children Play?), the band’s third studio album, released in 1992.

‘Dua Lipa: Live from Mexico’ was also presented as a feature film in which the artist showcases the best moments of her three successful performances in the Mexican capital, including standout performances of ‘One Kiss’, ‘Levitating’, and ‘Training Season’.
In addition to this unique collaboration, Maná will headline, along with Alejandro Fernández, Belinda, J Balvin and Los Ángeles Azules, the opening ceremony of the 2026 FIFA World Cup at the Mexico City Stadium (Estadio Banorte) on June 11.
