Supreme court allows deportations to 3rd countries!
Temporary Resumption!
Washington, Sep 29 (EFE).-
The United States Supreme Court authorized the governmet on Tuesday to temporarily resume its policy of sending some deportees to third countries. The Court also announced that it will hear arguments in the case in December.

The decision suspends lower court rulings that required informing migrants of the country to which they would be sent and providing them with an opportunity to contest their transfer before deportation. The administration justified this measure as necessary to deport individuals with criminal records.

The six justices who make up the court’s conservative majority voted in favor of the Trump administration. Justices Sonia Sotomayor, Elena Kagan, and Ketanji Brown Jackson dissented.

In the days leading up to the ruling, the Trump administration asked the Supreme Court to authorize these deportations, arguing that suspending them would constitute a “national emergency” and hinder their ability to remove certain migrants.

The resumption of these deportations marks a new step in President Donald Trunp’s administration’s immigration policy, which relies on sending migrants to third countries, including some accused of human rights violations, as part of its strategy of mass deportations and campaign promises.

The justices’ ruling means that the administration can continue the program and carry out expedited deportations to countries such as Equatorial Guinea for now. According to an investigation published by The New York Times, some people deported from the US were hooded, tied up, and beaten by police officers in Equatorial Guinea.
The Supreme Court plans to hear arguments on the policy’s legality in December before issuing a final ruling on the case.
Since Trump returned to the White House, over 25,000 migrants have been sent to 29 third countries under this policy, according to data compiled by US organizations and media outlets.EFE dte/dgp/mcd
