Michael Jackson’s early recordings on ‘The Definitive Collection LP’.

Michael Jackson’s early classics, including hits like “ABC” and “I’ll Be There” with the Jackson 5, have been compiled on a single vinyl record, titled “The Definitive Collection LP,” which goes on sale this Friday, Universal Music announced in a statement.
From the greatest hits of The Jackson 5 to his early solo songs, the collection brings together the essential tracks from Jackson’s early career, most of which were included on the soundtrack of the film “Michael,” a blockbuster that has become the fourth highest-grossing film of the year.
“The story of Michael Jackson began to be written long before he became the King of Pop,” the statement emphasizes. And that is precisely what makes this album so special, especially since it is also being released in a special collector’s edition with orange vinyl.
‘Michael Jackson – The Definitive Collection LP’ revisits his early years at the legendary Motown label with a selection of songs that traces “the extraordinary beginning of his career,” first as the lead singer of The Jackson 5 and later as a solo artist.
The first side of the album features some of The Jackson 5’s greatest hits, beginning with ‘I Want You Back,’ the single that took the group to number 1 on the Billboard charts in 1970.
This is followed by essential songs from his repertoire such as ‘ABC,’ ‘The Love You Save,’ ‘I’ll Be There,’ ‘Never Can Say Goodbye,’ and ‘Dancing Machine.’
Michael Jackson began singing with his brothers in The Jackson 5 when he was just nine years old. He remained with the group even after he began releasing his first solo albums, until he finally left the band in 1984.
The second side delves into Michael Jackson’s early solo years, featuring songs like ‘Got To Be There’, ‘Rockin’ Robin’, ‘I Wanna Be Where You Are’, and ‘Ben’, one of the first major hits of his solo career.
The selection is rounded out with ‘Who’s Lovin’ You’ and ‘We’ve Got A Good Thing Going’.
