Fifa to allow Water bottles during games!
FIFA backpasses on water bottle ban to World Cup matches!
San Antonio, Texas, June 6 (EFE).-
FIFA has reversed an earlier decision and will allow spectators to bring sealed plastic water bottles into stadiums during the 2026 World Cup, the football governing body said.

FIFA said fans can enter any match of the 2026 World Cup in the United States and Canada with a soft, disposable plastic water bottle, factory-sealed, of up to 20 ounces (590 milliliters).

The organization added that hard and reusable bottles will remain prohibited for security reasons.

“As explained by FIFA World Cup 2026 Chief Operating Officer Heimo Schirgi, hard and reusable bottles will not be allowed for security reasons,” the statement said.
The decision marks FIFA’s second policy reversal on the issue.

Under the most recent guidelines, fans with match tickets would not have been permitted to bring reusable water bottles into stadiums. Earlier versions of the tournament’s code of conduct had allowed them.
The updated policy means spectators will now be able to enter venues with sealed disposable plastic bottles, although reusable containers will remain banned.

The 2026 World Cup is scheduled to begin on June 11 with the opening match between Mexico and South Africa at Mexico City’s Azteca Stadium. EFE
