Ecuador beats Germany (2-1) in New Jersey!

Ivory Coast defeated Curaçao and qualified for the round of 16 on Thursday as the second-place finisher in Group E. Ecuador will also advance as one of the eight best third-place teams after defeating Germany, which advanced as the top team in its group.
Nicolas Pépé scored twice for Ivory Coast, one in each half, carrying his team to advance to the World Cup knockout round for the first time in the West African team’s history with a 2-0 victory over Curaçao.
Germany and Ecuador went into halftime tied at one, after Nilson Angulo equalized in the 9th minute following Leroy Sané’s opening goal, scored one minute and 49 seconds into the game.
Gonzalo Plata scored after a corner kick was nodded on by Kevin Rodríguez, giving Ecuador the victory in the 77th minute. EFE
