Aitana Bonmatí secured Spain’s win against Germany on Wednesday, carrying her team to their first Women’s European Championship final against England.

Germany nearly scored when Klara Bühl received a long pass from goalkeeper Berger, but her shot went just wide of the right post.
Spain didn’t have a clear shot on goal until the 21st minute.
Minutes later, Giovanna Hoffmann had the opportunity to put Germany ahead, but she missed.

Spain nearly scored just before halftime. Irene Paredes hit the post with a header from a corner kick, and González’s attempt at an overhead kick was blocked.

Berger had to make two crucial saves in stoppage time. First, a shot from González, then an attempt by Clàudia Pina.
Bonmatí almost scored in the 58th minute, but Sophia Kleinherne blocked the shot.

Cata Coll saved Bühl’s and Wamser’s shots near stoppage time, sending the game into extra time.
Bonmatí finally scored in the 113th minute, after she received the ball on the left side, spotted an opening, and fired from a difficult angle into the goal, scoring the goal that sent Spain to its first Euro finals. EFE mcd
