The brace by the Spanish forward Oyarzabal was his vindication after the match against Cape Verde, in which he became the first registered player since 1966 to play the first 30 minutes of a World Cup match without touching the ball a single time.

The match against Saudi Arabia concluded with a score of 4-0, and Spain has accumulated four points in two matches for Group H.

Belgium vs. Iran

After drawing, the national teams of Iran and Belgium will have to secure their passage to the round of 32 of the 2026 World Cup in the third and final matchday of the group stage.

Iran almost managed to take the lead on the scoreboard with a shot by Taremi in the 25th minute that entered the goal, but was ultimately disallowed for offside.

The expulsion of Nathan Ngoy in the 66th minute complicated the Belgians’ strategy as they had to play with 10 players.

Both teams depend on the outcome of the match being played between Egypt and New Zealand, each with one point as well, to define their real options for qualification. EFE
