Spain ended France’s flawless run in the 2026 World Cup with a 2-0 result at the Dallas Stadium on Tuesday.
The French side entered the clash as the heavy favorites, boasting a perfect record from the group stages and three consecutive shutouts in the knockout rounds against Sweden, Paraguay, and Morocco; however, their impenetrable defense finally cracked under Spanish pressure.
Mikel Oyarzabal scored on the penalty kick in the 22nd minute, putting Spain ahead and ending France’s defensive streak.
