Real Madrid got a great start in the UEFA Champions League with a 4-1 victory over RB Leipzig on Wednesday. The white team showed offensive superiority from start to finish, putting an end to the Germans’ aspirations in the second half.
Bernardo Silva opened the scoring shortly before halftime (44′), giving the initial advantage to the merengue club. In the second half, Arda Güler extended the lead with a precise finish in the 52nd minute.
Kylian Mbappé scored the 3-0 in the 83rd minute to seal the victory. However, Tidiam Gomis managed to pull one back for RB Leipzig in the 85th minute.
Just two minutes later, Yan Diomandé sealed Madrid’s win with a goal in the 87th minute, making the final score 4-1.
Meanwhile, in one of the most anticipated clashes, Bayern Munich and Arsenal starred in an exciting 2-2 draw at the Allianz Arena, a result that halts the English side’s winning streak.
Alphonso Davies put the Bavarians ahead in the 35th minute after a great run down the flank, and later Harry Kane made it 2-0 from the penalty spot in the 61st minute, setting up what seemed to be a comfortable win for the hosts.
However, Arsenal did not give up and responded in time. In the 25th minute, Eberechi Eze changed the course of the game when he scored. Then, in the 82nd minute, Declan Rice tied the match.EFE dgp
