Pope resumes audiences, uses Popemobile after operation
Vatican City, Oct 21 (EFE).
Pope Leo XIV resumed his audiences on Wednesday and boarded the Popemobile to tour St. Peter’s Square among the faithful, after undergoing surgery on Oct.13 for cancer, which required the removal of a part of his lung.
The pontiff was discharged Saturday from the Gemelli Polyclinic and appeared the following day at the Angelus prayer in the Vatican, where he said he would gradually resume his activities.
“Now that I have overcome this delicate phase, as you know, I will gradually resume my activities, always with God’s help and your prayers,” said the 71-year-old pontiff, after reciting the Angelus prayer before thousands of faithful.

Pope Leo XIV boarded the Popemobile to tour the area, greeting the faithful before the audience, showing a good state of health and blessing the children brought to him.
Also, before the general audience, he received participants in a conference organized by the Dicastery for the Causes of Saints.
Currently, preparations are underway for the Pope’s trip from Nov.6-17 to Uruguay, Argentina, and Peru, and in the coming days, other audiences are also on the agenda. EFE
