Presidential evacuation at WH correspondents’ Dinner!
President Donald Trump was abruptly evacuated from the event!

United States President Donald Trump was abruptly evacuated from the traditional White House correspondents’ dinner on Saturday after a gunman tried to enter the event but was intercepted and detained.
The hundreds of attendees at the meeting, which included the government’s top brass, had to be evacuated.
Trump, addressing a press conference at the White House soon after, said the attacker was “crazy” and a “lone wolf” who did not breach the security perimeter in which the president was dining, accompanied by First Lady Melania Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and and hundreds of journalists and members of the world of Washington politics.
US Attorney for DC, Jeanine Pirro, said in a subsequent press conference that the attacker entered the security perimeter armed with a shotgun and was “alive” but hospitalized under surveillance after being neutralized in the Washington Hilton Hotel where the dinner was being held.
A member of the Secret Service, responsible for the president’s security, was hit in the bulletproof vest but was fine.
The president of the United States shared through his social network, Truth Social, a series of images and a video showing the moment of the arrest and pursuit of the suspect.
The suspect is believed to be Cole Allen, a 31-year-old man, originally from California.
“Quite an evening in D.C. Secret Service and Law Enforcement did a fantastic job. They acted quickly and bravely. The shooter has been apprehended,” Trump posted on Truth Social.
The Secret Service, which intervened to evacuate the president and the rest of the senior officials at the dinner, detected the individual at one of the security checkpoints at the hotel before arresting him.
An EFE journalist who was at the dinner explained that three suspected gunshots were heard outside the dance hall where the dinner was being held.
Trump and members of the administration were quickly evacuated by the Secret Service, while the rest of the guests took refuge under the tables.
After a few minutes of uncertainty, the Secret Service informed attendees that it was safe to leave the venue.
This was the first time Trump, as president, attended the Correspondents’ Dinner, an annual event organized by journalists who cover the White House to celebrate press freedom.
The Republican leader, who has a tense relationship with the media, boycotted it altogether during his first term.
Trump announced that the dinner will be rescheduled for a later date within a month.
Political rivals such as New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani and veteran Democratic Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi expressed their support for Trump over the incident and condemned the violence on social media. EFE
