Los Angeles, US, Feb 25 (EFE).-
Us President Donald Trump lashed out at actor Robert De Niro, calling him “sick and demented,” after the ‘Godfather’ actor called for voters to remove the president at the polls.

In a message posted on his social media, Trump also questioned the Oscar-winner’s mental health and intelligence.
Trump’s reaction came after the ‘Taxi Driver’ actor spoke openly and emotionally about his discontent with Trump and his administration, and urged Americans to take action to vote against the president in the upcoming midterm elections.
“Trump is the enemy of this country,” De Niro said on Nicolle Wallace’s ‘The Best People’ podcast, released on Monday.

“Let’s not kid ourselves. He will not leave. It’s up to us to get rid of him,” he said. “He’s going to ruin the country. Everything this country has worked for and represents, he is ruining it. And it’s right before our eyes.”
“People have to mobilize now and be ready for the midterms so that there is no question that it is a fair election,” the actor added.

Trump’s response was swift, and in the same post, he lashed out at Democratic congresswomen Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib, who confronted the president during his State of the Union address Tuesday night.
Omar shouted, “You have killed Americans,” during a critique of undocumented immigrants, while Tlaib questioned the Epstein files, which were omitted from the president’s speech.

“They should actually get on a boat with Trump Deranged Robert De Niro, another sick and demented person with, I believe, an extremely Low IQ, who has absolutely no idea what he is doing or saying,” Trump wrote.
“When I watched him break down in tears last night, much like a child would do, I realized that he may be even sicker than Crazy Rosie O’Donnell, who is right now in Ireland trying to figure out how to come back into our beautiful United States.”

De Niro has publicly and frequently expressed his disapproval of Trump since his first term, which has earned him insults from the president on several occasions. EFE
