‘No Kings’ events boost early voting in the US!
Los Angeles, US, Oct 17 (EFE).-
More than 2,500 “No Kings” rallies and events were held in the US on Saturday to promote early voting ahead of the midterm elections on Nov. 3.

The streets of the country’s most populous cities – such as Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Washington, Miami and Houston – served as a stage for protesters to boost participation in the midterm elections in which the majority of Congress will be elected.
Unlike previous demonstrations, Saturday’s call, dubbed ‘No Kings: Vote Early,’ was not a protest directed against US President Donald Trump, but a coordinated day of electoral action, organizers said in a statement.

Activists stressed that the initiative was strictly non-partisan and did not support or oppose any candidate or political party.

The demonstrations focused on ensuring that eligible voters were prepared to cast their ballot early, whenever possible, and connect voters with resources and opportunities for vote protection.

The mobilization has also had a special focus on Hispanic voters to participate in elections, as part of the Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations.

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), the American Federation of Teachers, Black Voters Matter Fund, Indivisible, MoveOn, Public Citizen, State Voices, and Voto Latino were among the organizations that convened the initiative. EFE
