Mexico and Brazil going to next round of 32!

Brazil and Mexico advanced Wednesday to the round of 32 of the soccer World Cup as group winners, while Morocco and South Africa qualified as runners-up.


Scotland and South Korea finished third in their respective groups and must wait to see whether they advance among the best third-place teams.

Brazil topped Group C with seven points after a 3-0 win over Scotland, while Morocco also reached seven by defeating Haiti 4-2. Coached by Carlo Ancelotti, Brazil will face the Group F runner-up on June 29 in Houston; Morocco will play the Group F winner the same day in Monterrey, Mexico. Scotland ended third with three points and a minus-three goal difference.

Mexico finished Group A with a perfect nine points following a 3-0 victory over the Czech Republic national soccer team, marking the first time it has gone perfect in the group stage across 18 World Cup appearances.
Under coach Javier Aguirre, Mexico will play June 30 against one of the best third-place teams from Groups C, E, F, H or I.

South Africa secured second place with a 1-0 win over South Korea to reach four points and will face Canada national soccer team on June 28 in Los Angeles. South Korea finished third with three points and a minus-one goal difference, pending results elsewhere. EFE
