
Real Madrid leads with Barza at the top of La Liga

Real Madrid’s 3-2 victory over Leganes on Saturday left them tied with FC Barcelona at the top of La Liga. Atlético de Madrid drew with Espanyol remaining a distant third and moving further away from the fight for the title.

The Meringues took the lead in the first half thanks to a Kylian Mbappé penalty.


Leganes equalized thanks to Diego García, who scored with ease.
Leganes went ahead in the 40th minute thanks to a left-footed shot from Dani Raba.
Madrid came out firing in the second half and equalized in the 46th minute with a goal from Jude Bellingham to make it 2-2.
Mbappe’s free kick in the 76th minute sealed the victory for Real Madrid.
Meanwhile, Atlético de Madrid drew with Espanyol, signing their third consecutive stumble that makes the fight for La Liga very complicated.


Cesar Azpilicueta gave Atlético Madrid the lead in the 38th minute of the first half, but Javi Puado equalized from the spot in the 26th minute of the second half. EFE
