Judge suspends Trump’s ads with public funds!
New York City, Oct 11 (EFE).-
A US federal judge on Sunday ordered the suspension of controversial advertisements from President Donald Trump’s administration that are funded with public money, just over three weeks before the midterm elections.

Federal Judge Jennifer Rochon of the Southern District Court of New York ordered the immediate suspension of an advertising campaign about Trump that had been financed with funds from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), ruling that irreparable harm could be caused if they were not stopped.

The judge also blocked a $20 million allocation earmarked for the production and distribution of the ads.
The order took effect at 6.45pm local time on Sunday and will remain in place for 14 days, unless the court extends it.
Judge Rochon announced that she will soon publish a ruling detailing all the arguments that led her to make this decision.

The commercials combine praise for the president, messages against his political opponents, and the glorification of some of his recent military actions, such as the arrest of ousted Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro and the war against Iran.
Following the controversy, the White House maintained that the ads are public service and educational messages and denied that they constitute election propaganda.

Trump personally defended the expenditure, stating that he is not promoting himself because he is not a candidate in the November elections, but rather “promoting the country.”
The president also said he would be willing to personally pay the money if it were determined that the expenditure was improper. EFE
