Harrison Ford endorses Kamala Harris!
Los Angeles, Nov 2 (EFE).–
American actor Harrison Ford voiced his support for Vice President and Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris, stating that the United States needs a leader who “will work for all of us again.”
In a series of videos released in collaboration with the Harris-Walz campaign, Ford made public his choice to vote for the Democratic candidate in the US presidential election, citing statements made by former officials from Donald Trump’s administration who have criticized the Republican candidate.
“I am Harrison Ford. I have got one vote, same as anyone else, and I am going to use it to move forward. I am going to vote for Kamala Harris,” Ford said in a video recorded for the Harris-Walz campaign.
He praised Harris for believing in the “rule of law” and slammed Trump for “embracing dictators and tyrants around the world.”
“You have to pay attention,” Ford said.
“They are telling us something important. These are not soft people. They are governors, generals standing up against the leader of the party. They spent their lives advocating for many of them. This will be the first time they have ever voted for someone who does not have an R next to their name, because they know this really matters.”
He said the Trump on the other hand “demands unquestioning loyalty” and wanted “revenge.”
In a video released by Rolling Stone on Saturday, Ford pointed out that while he doesn’t agree with every policy of the Democratic ticket, he believes they would, if elected, govern inclusively for all Americans.
“These two candidates respect the rule of law,” he said in the video. “They believe we are all in this together. Those are values I can support. They’re people I can stand behind.”
The actor, who previously endorsed President Biden in 2020, voiced his dissatisfaction with “a lot of things” in the US but stressed the importance of unity.
“I am frustrated with plenty in this country,” he said.
“I am sure you are too. But the other guy, he spent four years turning us against each other while embracing dictators and tyrants around the world. That’s not who we are. We don’t need to make America great again. Come on. We are great, but we need is to work together again. All we need is a president who works for all of us, and again.”
