Carlos Alcaraz wins 2025 US Open!

Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz won the US Open for the second time on Sunday, defeating Italy’s Jannik Sinner 6-2, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4 in the final to reclaim the world No. 1 ranking.

Alcaraz opened the match with an early break and dominated the first set. Sinner responded in the second, breaking Alcaraz’s serve for 3-1 and taking the set 6-3.

The Spaniard regained control in the third set with a 5-0 run, sealing it 6-1. I

In the fourth, Alcaraz broke at 2-2 and held his advantage until serving for the title. At 5-4, he converted his third match point after Sinner had saved two.

“It was a tough battle, but today you were better,” Sinner said during the trophy ceremony.

Alcaraz replied with a smile: “I see you more than my family,” referring to their growing rivalry after multiple finals this year.

The victory gives Alcaraz his second Grand Slam of 2025, after Roland Garros, and his sixth overall.

He now leads the rankings with 11,540 points, ahead of Sinner’s 10,780.

“It means a lot to win here again and to be back at No. 1,” Alcaraz said. EFE
