UEFA Champions League Opener!

Europe’s top soccer teams opened the UEFA Champions League with big statements on Wednesday. Barcelona FC and Paris Saint-Germain thrashed their respective opponents, Feyenoord (5-1) and Slovan Bratislava (6-1), Stuttgart took a comfortable victory (3-1) over Viking Stavanger; and Arsenal and Liverpool both took three points, beating Atlético de Madrid (2-1) and Napoli (1-0), respectively.

At Camp Nou, Barcelona’s flawless performance was highlighted by a brace from Raphinha and a spectacular free-kick goal from Lamine Yamal.

Karim Adeyemi and Gabriel Jesús marked their European debuts, adding to the victory over the Dutch team.

In Paris, last year’s champion, Paris Saint-Germain dominated ŠK Slovan Bratislava with a double from Dembélé, a hat-trick by Ferrán Torres and a finishing touch by Fabián Ruiz.

In Stuttgart, the German side enjoyed a successful European return, powered by a brilliant hat-trick from striker Ermedin Demirović.
Meanwhile, Anfield witnessed a tense battle as the Reds finally managed to take on a resilient Atlético side.

In Napoli, the Gunners secured a decisive strike from captain Martin Ødegaard.

Sporting CP put on a clinical display in Lisbon to comfortably secure all three points against their Turkish opponents. EFE
