The Sagrada Familia broke its visitor record in 2025 with 4,877,567 visitors, nearly 1% more than the previous year. Tourists from the United States accounted for over 15% of visitors, followed by those from the rest of Spain, China, and France.

This was announced on Tuesday by Esteve Camps, delegate of the Sagrada Familia Construction Board, and Xavier Martínez, the Basilica’s general manager, at an annual review press conference, where a new logo was also unveiled.

“It has been confirmed during 2025 that the Sagrada Familia’s financial situation is solid after the pandemic,” Martínez stated.

In addition to the visitor numbers, they also noted an increase in the entity’s revenue in the last fiscal year, reaching €134.5 million – mostly from tourism – of which €58.4 million was allocated to construction at the temple.

Among the improvements, the Tower of Jesus Christ stands out, its inauguration expected to coincide with the centenary of Gaudí’s death, who passed away on June 10, 1926.

“We want it to be a celebration of the people and for the people, from Barcelona to the world,” said Camps.

The event will be marked by the visit of Pope Leo XIV, who will preside over the blessing of the tower during his trip to Spain, which also includes a visit to Montserrat Abbey.

The Chapel of the Assumption, meanwhile, has reached 8 meters in height this year, out of its planned 30 meters, and the bell tower of Saint Matthias on the Nativity façade has also been restored.

“This architectural evolution urgently called for an update to our visual identity,” stated the delegate of the City Council.

For this reason, as part of the preparations for the centenary of Gaudí’s death and the visit of the Holy Father, they have unveiled a new logo, designed by Vicente Ruiz, which incorporates the tower of Jesus Christ in the center of the Basilica’s silhouette.

The renewal of the temple’s image is “a natural evolution,” driven not by aesthetic reasons, but by “consistency with our own history,” Camps concluded.
