Criminal group distribute war toys to children in Mexico!
Monterrey, Mexico, Dec 28 (EFE)
Suspected members of a criminal group were arrested while distributing toy weapons bearing the initials CDN, presumably referring to the acronym for the Northeast Cartel, to minors in a municipality in the northern Mexican state of Nuevo León, authorities reported Sunday.

According to the Secretariat of Public Security, Citizen Protection, and Social Prevention of the municipality of Guadalupe, Nuevo León, the incident occurred in the Escamilla neighborhood of that metropolitan municipality.
The arrests were made after a vehicle wanted for its alleged involvement in two murders was located.
Officers noticed four men handing out the toys to the children.

Upon being discovered, the suspects attempted to flee but were apprehended. Authorities seized 144 doses of a green, dried herb resembling marijuana, a .223 caliber firearm, a 9mm firearm, 120 rounds of .223 caliber ammunition, 17 rounds of 9mm ammunition, and eight boxes of toys, each in its original packaging and bearing the inscription “CDN.”
The men were identified as 18-year-old Lander Alejandro, alias “Tocino,” from Baja California; 27-year-old Erick “Flaco” and 25-year-old Bryan “Lucifer,” both from Veracruz; and 31-year-old Francisco Israel “Cañangas” or “Isra,” from Monterrey.

The four detainees are suspected of involvement in two murders and another violent incident involving gunfire, though no victims were reported, that occurred in December.
The CDN, or Northeast Cartel, is a criminal organization in Mexico, considered a splinter group of Los Zetas, and is linked to illicit activities such as homicide, drug trafficking, and extortion.

This is not the first time that alleged members of organized crime have distributed gifts to the public. On other occasions, members of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) have taken to the streets wearing ski masks and carrying long guns to distribute toys to children on holidays such as December 25, Christmas Day, and January 6, Three Kings’ Day.

The toy distributions take place in marginalized areas of the states of Michoacán and Jalisco.
