Soccer Striker dies after Chest Blow!
Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Spain, Nov 3 (EFE).-
Jesús de Miguel, a 30-year-old forward for Spanish club CD Tenerife, died on Tuesday at the Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria University Hospital, where he had been admitted to intensive care the previous night following a severe on-field collision during a match against Andorra.

“Heartbroken, with a lump in our throats and unable to believe this is true, CD Tenerife announces the tragic passing of Jesús de Miguel Alameda on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at 8:00 am,” the Canary Islands club said in a post on X.
The incident took place on Monday in the final stretch of the Spanish Second Division match between Tenerife and FC Andorra played at the Heliodoro Rodríguez López stadium, when the Tenerife attacker collided with the visiting goalkeeper, Jesús Owono, in the fight for a loose ball.

Jesús de Miguel received a strong blow to the chest, after which he went into cardiorespiratory arrest.
The incident led to the definitive suspension of the match in the 108th minute, in order to facilitate the access of health services to the playing field.

Medical professionals attended to the footballer on the field and, subsequently, he was rushed by ambulance to the hospital.
“There are no words of comfort; nothing can truly lessen this profound sadness. We stand with his grieving family, his loved ones, and all of Tenerife who mourn this cruel loss,” the club added.

“The family of Jesús de Miguel expresses their deepest gratitude for each and every expression of support received and sincerely requests the utmost respect for their privacy during this difficult time,” it said. EFE
