Guedes’s cross from the left wing led to Barrenetxea heading in the fastest goal in Copa del Rey final history just 14 seconds in.

Griezmann assisted Lookman, who received the ball in the penalty area. Lookman quickly spun around and sent a precise, low shot with his left foot just inside the post, equalizing the game in the 19th minute.

Just before halftime, Guedes jumped to head the ball on a free kick, beating Musso to it. The Argentine goalkeeper hit the Portuguese player on the head.

The referee awarded a penalty kick, which Oyarzabal scored to make it 1-2.

The second half followed a familiar pattern, with Real Sociedad adopting a defensive posture while Atlético launched attacks on the goal area, albeit with a certain lack of precision.

In the 83rd minute, Julián Álvarez scored a stunning goal, controlling the ball with a back heel and unleashing a left-footed shot into the top corner, leaving Marrero frozen.

The match went into extra time, leading to a penalty shootout. Marrero was the hero for Real, who lifted their third Copa del Rey. EFE
