French to sue AliExpress for selling Child Porn dolls!

Paris, Nov 26 (EFE).–

The French government announced Wednesday that it will sue online shopping platforms AliExpress and Joom, as it did with Shein, for selling child-like sex dolls.

Trade Minister Serge Papin said in an interview with TF1 that legal proceedings will be launched against AliExpress and Joom because “they also sell child pornography dolls.”

Papin added that this legal “battle” was aimed at protecting consumers, children, teenagers, as well as the French industry and retailers.

“We must put an end to the digital Wild West,” he stressed, adding that it was “not just the Shein platform,” which has closed its third-party seller platform in France.

A Paris court is examining the proceedings launched against Shein by the French government on Wednesday for selling child-like sex dolls, weapons, and other illegal products.

The French government has announced that it will request the suspension of the Chinese platform for three months.

Papin said the French government wants Shein to prove that its products comply with the country’s consumer protection laws.

He argued that this issue should be regulated by European legislation and advocated for introducing a degree of protectionism.

Papin noted that there was unanimity among French business federations, which, for the first time, have decided to take legal action against Shein.

On Nov. 5, the French government threatened to suspend Shein’s operations in France after discovering that its online offerings included sex dolls resembling children, weapons, and other illegal products.

To avoid a shutdown in France, Shein decided to temporarily suspend sales from third-party sellers and of any product other than clothing, in addition to removing the offending items.

Authorities initially abandoned the closure plan but continued legal proceedings against the Chinese company. EFE
