England beats Panama takes top spot for Group L, Croatia advances second, Ghana third

England advanced to the round of 16 on Saturday as the top team in Group L after beating Panama 2-0, Croatia advanced as the second-place team, triumphing 2-1 over Ghana, which also passed as one of the eight best third-place teams in the 2026 World Cup.

​England struggled in the first half, but in a five-minute span, from the 62nd to the 67th minute, they handed the already-eliminated Panama national team its third loss with two goals.

​Bellingham scored his second goal of the tournament in the 62nd minute, and Kane added the third in the 67th, cementing his status as his country’s all-time leading World Cup scorer with 11 goals.

​Meanwhile, Croatia defeated Ghana, dominating possession throughout the game.

​Petar Sucic opened the scoring in the 31st minute, assisted by Mateo Kovacic.
