Lima, Jan 16 (EFE).-

Puerto Rican singer Bad Bunny gave the first of his two concerts in Peru on Friday as part of his ‘Debí tirar más fotos’ world tour at a packed National Stadium in Lima lit up with fireworks.

Fans of the reggaeton star camped out around the stadium in the center of the capital and entered their seats several hours before the show began, some wearing the straw hats popularized by the artist.

The makeshift tent set up at one end of the stadium also piqued the curiosity of fans eager to know who Bad Bunny’s guests would be and Lima’s summer heat led concert-goers to request water cannon as they counted down the minutes until the concert started.

Peru is one of the destinations Bad Bunny has visited on several occasions, first when he was an emerging urban music artist, and now as a globally established star who will be perform the Super Bowl halftime show on Feb. 8, as announced in recent hours.

Wearing a light suit and tie, Bad Bunny’s show began with salsa and fusion rhythms, accompanied by an orchestra featuring prominent wind instruments and male backup singers.

Thus, Benito kicked off his show with hits such as ‘La Mudanza,’ ‘Calladita, and ‘Nueva Yol,’ before entering ‘La Casita’ to perform ‘Titi Me Pregunta,’ ‘Me Porto Bonito,’ ‘Yo Perreo Sola,’ and ‘Safaera,’ wearing a Peruvian national soccer team jersey.

“The night is just beginning. We’re here solely for you to have a good time, to forget all the bad things that might be happening, and to enjoy a special night,” the artist said.

Then, the singer behind the nostalgic album ‘Debí tirar más fotos’ approached the audience to shake fans’ hands and returned to the main stage to sing ‘Ojitos lindos’ , ‘El apagón’, ‘Kloufrens,’ ‘Bokete,’ and ‘Eoo,’ completing a 29-song setlist.

On Saturday, he will perform the second date of his tour in Lima, before continuing on to Argentina and Brazil in February. EFE
