Diversity & Procurement Expo on Friday, Sept. 12,
RUTHERFORD, N.J. — By Giovanna Aguilar

The Statewide Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of New Jersey (SHCCNJ) will host its annual Diversity & Procurement Expo on Friday, Sept. 12, at The Park Hotel at The Meadowlands, 2 Meadowlands Plaza, East Rutherford.

Guided by the mantra “Juntos Somos Familia,” the Expo will connect entrepreneurs with corporations and government agencies while supporting businesses throughout diverse sectors. More than 500 attendees are expected for networking, panel discussions and direct meetings with procurement officers and decision-makers.

“At SHCCNJ, we believe that access to new markets is essential for the success of our businesses. This event creates a space where entrepreneurs can engage directly with government agencies, corporations, and one another to explore fresh possibilities for growth. We invite our members to join us, enjoy the breakfast, and connect with partners who are committed to strengthening our Main Street economy,” said SHCCNJ Chairman Luis O. De La Hoz.

Gov. Phil Murphy’s disparity study revealed that minority- and women-owned businesses received less than 5 percent of state contracting dollars, despite representing a significant portion of New Jersey’s business community.
“That gap is why events like this are so important,” said SHCCNJ President and CEO Carlos Medina. “Small businesses—especially Latino-owned businesses—deserve a fair chance to compete. This Expo gives them the tools, connections and opportunities to do just that.”
