New Delhi, Sep 17 (EFE).-
Argentine footballer Lionel Messi has sent Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi a signed jersey for his 75th birthday, his promoter in India, Satadru Dutta, said Wednesday.
“Messi has sent a jersey as a gift to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his 75th birthday, along with his best wishes,” Dutta told India’s IANS news agency.

No images or further details of the birthday gift were released.
Dutta said the Argentina captain and Inter Miami forward will visit India in December for a multi-day event called the “GOAT Tour of India 2025,” where he will be the main attraction.
“When Messi visits India, we plan to request a meeting with the prime minister during his stay,” Dutta said.

The promoter added that Messi will also meet Indian fans during his first visit to the country in years, which will include stops in New Delhi and Mumbai.
“His visit is scheduled for Dec. 13–15. He will arrive in Kolkata on the 13th, then travel to Mumbai, and finally to Delhi on the 15th. Three major events are planned during his India trip,” Dutta said.
Messi, who enjoys a huge fan base in India, last visited the country in 2022, when Argentina played a friendly match against Venezuela that ended in a 1–0 win for the Albiceleste.

Before Messi’s December trip, Argentina is due to play a friendly match in mid-November in the southern state of Kerala, one of India’s football strongholds, the Argentine Football Association confirmed.
Modi on Wednesday received international birthday greetings from leaders including Donald Trump, Benjamin Netanyahu, Vladimir Putin and Giorgia Meloni, as well as from actors, spiritual leaders and global celebrities, among them Messi. EFE
