Argentina Knocks out Switzerland (3-1)!
Argentina might do it again!
Kansas City, Missouri, USA, July 11 (EFE).-

A goal by Julián Álvarez in the 112th minute and another by Lautaro Martínez in the 120+1 minute gave Argentina a ticket to the semifinals of the 2026 World Cup on Saturday, defeating Switzerland 3-1 in the Kansas City quarterfinal.

The Argentinians had taken the lead with a goal by Alexis Mac Allister in the 10th minute, but the Swiss, playing their first World Cup quarterfinal since 1954, equalized with a goal by Dan Ndoye in the 67th before Álvarez and Martínez fought back to snatch the win.

Álvarez rewarded the persistence of Lionel Scaloni, who kept him in the starting 11 despite his performance in the tournament having generated nothing but controversy due to his desire to leave Atletico Madrid.
The Argentinians will play against England next Wednesday in Atlanta, Georgia. EFE
