New York, Jan 12 (EFE)
Apple has partnered with Google to boost its artificial intelligence (AI) features in products like Siri later this year, the two tech giants announced Monday.
“Apple and Google have entered into a multi-year collaboration agreement under which the next generation of Apple base models will be based on Google’s Gemini architecture and cloud technology,” the companies announced in a joint statement.

According to the statement, these models will power future Apple Intelligence features, including a more personalized version of Siri arriving this year.
“After extensive evaluation, Apple determined that Google’s AI technology provides the strongest foundation for its base models and is excited about the innovative experiences it will bring to Apple users,” the statement continued.

Apple Intelligence will continue to run on Apple devices and on Google’s Private Cloud Compute, maintaining Apple’s industry-leading privacy standards.
Currently, Apple users can configure their devices to allow Apple Intelligence to integrate with OpenAI’s ChatGPT.
The news, which was leaked today by CNBC, boosted the shares of both tech giants, with Alphabet (Google’s parent company) surpassing a market capitalization of four trillion dollars.
