New York City, US, (EFE).

The Super Bowl, which the Kansas City Chiefs won 25-22 against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, had a viewership of 123.4 million, making it the most watched telecast in US history.

The previous record was held by last year’s Super Bowl, in which the Chiefs beat the Philadelphia Eagles and which drew 115.1 million viewers.

The only thing that was watched by more people than this year’s Super Bowl was the Apollo 11 Moon landing in 1969, which had an estimated audience of between 125 and 150 million people in the US.

However, apart from the fact that these are only estimates, the Moon landing was seen on different channels, so the comparison with the 2024 Super Bowl, which was aired exclusively on CBS and its complementary platforms and channels in the US, it would not be very accurate.

Data from Nielsen Fast National and Adobe Analytics, released by the NFL in a statement on Monday, showed that 120 million people watched the game on CBS.

The rest enjoyed it on Paramount+, Nickelodeon, Univisión, CBS Sports and NFL+.

Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas witnessed the Chiefs’ second straight title and their third in five years.

The Super Bowl, which went into overtime, was also attended by Taylor Swift, whose relationship with Chiefs’ tight end Travis Kelce, has been in the spotlight this season.

Swift hugged and kissed Kelce after Kansas City Chiefs’ victory.

Since making heir relationship official, the singer has been spotted in the stands cheering on her boyfriend at every game.

Usher performed at the halftime show which had special guests Alicia Keys, H.E.R., Ludacris, Lil Jon and will.i.am.

The cost of a 30-second commercial at this year’s game was $7 million.

Lionel Messi, Beyoncé, Jennifer López, Ben Affleck and Arnold Schwarzenegger were among the main stars in the commercials. EFE
