Ronaldo’s Hat Trick
Sports Desk, Apr 3 (EFE).-
Cristiano Ronaldo maintained his prolific form in the Saudi Pro League and sent a warning to Portugal’s Euro 2024 rivals, scoring his second hat-trick in three days in Al Nassr’s 8-0 demolition of Abha on Tuesday.
Sadio Mane was also among the scorers against the second-last side in the Saudi Pro League, but it was Ronaldo who stole the limelight with his first-half hat-trick after his treble against Al Tai over the weekend.
Ronaldo scored his first two goals from free kicks before making an assist for Mane.
He completed his hat-trick three minutes before the break with a beautiful chip from outside the box to remind everyone of what he was capable of.
It was Ronaldo’s seventh first-half hat-trick and his 65th overall, including 44 during his trophy-laden time with Real Madrid.
The 39-year-old Portugal star has scored three or more goals in five games since joining Al Nassr in late 2022.
Despite Ronaldo’s scoring feat, Al Nassr trail rivals and leaders Al Hilal by 12 points with eight matches to play and are out of the Asian Champions League and domestic cup in Saudi Arabia, which could make it a potentially trophy-less season for Ronaldo.
Al Hilal, who are missing their star signing Neymar due to injury, announced on Tuesday they could also miss Aleksandar Mitrovic, second behind Ronaldo in the league with 22 goals, for the rest of the season through injury. EFE
