Santos released pardoned by Trump!
Miami, Florida.-Oct 18 (EFE).-
Former U.S. Rep. George Santos thanked Trump after prison release.

Former congressman George Santos said Saturday that he had spoken with Donald Trump after the president commuted his seven-year prison sentence and thanked him for the “second chance” he said he had been granted.
“Today I had the honor of speaking with him personally, a conversation I will never forget,” Santos wrote on X.

He also hailed Trump as “a great leader” and expressed gratitude for being allowed “to return as a new man.”

In a post on his Truth Social account, Trump said Santos had been “horribly mistreated” in prison, described him as “somewhat of a ‘rogue,’ but … there are many rogues throughout our country who aren’t forced to serve seven years in prison,” and added, “Therefore, I just signed a commutation, releasing George Santos from prison IMMEDIATELY. Good luck George, have a great life!”

Santos, 37, had been serving a sentence at the federal correctional facility in Fairton, New Jersey, after pleading guilty in August 2024 to wire fraud and aggravated identity theft. The commutation was announced on Oct. 17, 2025, and his conviction remains on the record. EFE
