Sports Desk, May 15 (EFE).-

Vinicius Junior scored two goals as LaLiga champions-elect Real Madrid thrashed Alaves 5-0 on Tuesday, sending a fresh warning to their Champions League final rivals Borussia Dortmund.

Jude Bellingham, Federico Valverde, and Arda Guler scored the other three goals for Madrid, who have now recorded their ninth consecutive win in the league and their 29th victory in the competition.

The Vitoria side threatened to seize the early initiative, with Samu Omorodion testing Thibaut Courtois with a close-range shot, prompting Madrid into action.

They took the lead within 10 minutes as Toni Kross picked out Bellingham at the back post for the Englishman to score his 19th league goal with a side-footed volley.

Vinicius side netted a minute later to signal Madrid’s intent and scored the side’s second goal in the 27th minute after a slick team move that saw Bellingham and Eduardo Camavinga set up the goal for him.

Valverde made it 3-0 just before the interval after receiving a pass from Bellingham in the box.

Courtois twice prevented the visitors from getting on the score sheet in the second half before Real regained control.

Vinicius latched onto Bellingham’s through ball and rifled a right-footed shot into the top right corner to make it 4-0 in the 70th minute.

Real refused to relax despite the scoreline heavily favoring them, as Gulen pounced on a rebound from a save of a Rodrygo shot to make it 5-0.

Courtois brought his class into play before the end of the game twice to keep the clean sheet for Real.

Girona lost 0-1 to Villarreal as Bertrand Traore’s goal in the 59th minute denied the Catalan side the chance to go second, overtaking Barcelona. EEF
