Israel President calls Mandani’s remarks “Anti-Jewish”
Jerusalem, 8 Dec (EFE).-
Israeli President Isaac Herzog on Monday called remarks by New York’s mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani “appalling” and “anti-Jewish” during an event at Yeshiva University in New York City.

“This is both anti-Jewish and anti-American,” Herzog said.
He added that delegitimizing the right of the Jewish people to their ancestral homeland “legitimizes violence and undermines religious freedom.”

Herzog made the comments as concern grows over what critics call a surge of “institutional antisemitism” in New York under Mamdani’s incoming administration.

Mamdani has drawn criticism from Israeli and American Jewish and pro-Israel circles over past statements — including his support for the boycott, divestment and sanctions (BDS) movement and refusal to recognize Israel as a “Jewish state.” EFE
