FIFA to pay $727 Million for 2026 World Cup!
Madrid, Dec 17 (EFE).-
The FIFA Council approved a record financial contribution for the 2026 World Cup, in which it will distribute $727 million to all participating teams, 50 percent more than Qatar 2022, and the winning team will get $50 million.

FIFA announced on Wednesday the Council’s decisions at the meeting held before the final of the Intercontinental Cup in Doha, including the financial distribution of next year’s World Cup, to be held in the United States, Mexico and Canada.
A large part of the amount, $655 million, will be given as a prize money to the 48 teams, with the champion getting $50 million, the runner-up $33 million, $29 million for third place and $27 million for fourth.

Teams from fifth to eighth place will receive $19 million each, and from ninth to 16th will get $15 million. Teams that end up between 17th and 32nd place will get $11 million, and $9 million for those between 33rd and 48th place.
In addition, each qualified team will receive one and a half million to cover the costs of preparation, which ensures at least $10.5 million for all participating teams.
“The FIFA World Cup 2026 will also be groundbreaking in terms of its financial contribution to the global football community,” FIFA President Gianni Infantino said in a statement. EFE
