Sports Desk, Apr 22 (EFE).-

Liverpool came back to winning ways in the English Premier League to boost their title challenge with a 3-1 victory away at Fulham on Sunday.

After a shock 0-1 defeat to another London outfit, Crystal Palace, that nearly derailed their title bid, the Reds had no choice but to take the full three points from Fulham.

Goals from Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ryan Gravenberch, and Diogo Jota helped them achieve their target, which took their tally to 74, putting them level with Arsenal at the top of the table.

Holders Manchester City are trailing them by one point with a game in hand in one of the closest title races in the Premier League in years.

Alexander-Arnold gave Liverpool the lead in the 32nd minute with an excellent free-kick that soared into the top corner.

But Fulham leveled in first-half added time through Timothy Castagne.

Gravenberch, restored Liverpool’s lead in the second half, curling his effort into the top left corner after receiving a pass from Harvey Elliot some 25 yards out.

Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp vowed to fight for the title till the end.

“Maybe if we can keep it as exciting then in the end, fortune is maybe then on our side. We don’t know. We have to try to win as many games as somehow possible, to win as many points as somehow possible,” he said.

Jota settled the nerves of the visitors 18 minutes from time, squeezing his shot past the Fulham goalkeeper for the 100th goal of his English club career, 56 of which have come at Liverpool. EFE
