On Monday, May 1, 2023, Immigrant workers, their families, community advocates, faith leaders, and members of Unidad Latina en Acción NJ,  led a march to commemorate May Day or International Workers’ Day.

“I am a domestic worker and have endured the abuses of employers who made me work extra hours with no pay. That’s why we need a worker center in Princeton for all domestic workers and day laborers because immigrant rights are workers rights.” said Angela Ramos.

Around 400 people marched from the Witherspoon Presbyterian Church to the Fountain of Freedom in Princeton University to raise attention to the following demands:

“We are here today marching for all workers of the world, especially workers in Princeton from all industries, domestic workers, day laborers, restaurant workers, professors, teachers and graduate students. Our demands are local and state needs that we fight for as we organize our immigrant workers” said Ana Paola Pazmino, Executive Director, Unidad Latina en Acción NJ
