21st Elizabeth Bicycle Annual Tour

Bicyclists of all ages and skill levels are invited to participate in this thrilling event, exploring the scenic parks, waterfront paths, bustling businesses, charming residences, and historic neighborhoods of Elizabeth. It’s an opportunity for cyclists to experience a unique perspective of New Jersey’s fourth largest city while enjoying a fun-filled day of biking with family and friends.
The Tour de Elizabeth, which kicks off and concludes at City Hall, promises a memorable experience for participants. Registration opens at 7:00 a.m., with the ride commencing promptly at 9:00 a.m. The first 500 registrants will receive a signature Tour de Elizabeth t-shirt, and all riders will be entered into a free raffle for post-event drawings. This year’s theme, “Riding with Heart,” underscores the promotion of physical health and social awareness.
To register, individuals can visit www.groundworkelizabeth.org. While hard copy applications are available in Elizabeth public buildings, stores, and Union County Bicycle shops, online registration is preferred. Riders are encouraged to sign up early as slots tend to fill up quickly.
The Tour de Elizabeth welcomes participants of all ages, provided they can maintain a moderate pace of 10 miles per hour and complete the 15-mile route (with a break at the halfway mark). Helmets are mandatory for all participants, and the Elizabeth Police Department will provide assistance and escort cyclists along the route. Bicycles and helmets are available for rental from Unlimited Biking.
