Villarreal virtually lost their qualification hopes after a 3–2 home defeat to Copenhagen. The Spanish side came from behind twice but conceded the winning goal in the 90th minute.

Ajax kept their chances alive by beating Qarabag 4–2 after trailing 2–1, scoring three goals in the final 15 minutes.
