Borussia Dortmund beat Paris Saint-Germain 1-0 at the Signal Iduna Park stadium thanks to a first-half goal by Füllkrug, taking the lead in the second round of the Champions League semifinals.

Füllkrug struck in the 36th minute after beating Donnarumma one-on-one in an opening spell in which Dortmund were the better side.

PSG was subdued in the first half, woke up in the second, and missed five clear chances to score: two from Mbappé and Achraf, a header from Fabian Ruiz, and two shots from Dembélé.

Now, PSG, one of the favorites at the start of the tournament, will have to make up for Wednesday’s game at home if they do not want to throw away their umpteenth attempt to win their first Champions League.

Meanwhile, Dortmund is counting its blessings as no one expected it to reach this stage of the tournament.

Both teams started with the same 22 players that made it to the semifinals. But for most of the game, the Dortmund eleven were much more intense, which was reflected in the final score. EFE
