Bayern Munich secured a 2-1 victory over Real Madrid in the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinals at the Santiago Bernabeu on Tuesday.

Luis Díaz gave Bayern the lead late in the first half, in minute 41, before Harry Kane marked his 49th goal of the season in the minute 46.
Kylian Mbappé scored Madrid’s only goal later in the second half, however, the result left Bayern with a crucial advantage ahead of the second leg in Germany and ended their nine-game winless streak against Madrid in the Champions League.

Meanwhile, at the José Alvalade Stadium, Kai Havertz scored a dramatic stoppage-time winner, ensuring a 1-0 triumph for Arsenal against Sporting Lisboa in the first leg of their Champions League quarterfinal in Lisbon.
The match appeared to be heading for a goalless draw until substitute Havertz connected with Gabriel Martinelli’s pass in the first minute of added time, delivering a fine finish that puts Arsenal in a strong position ahead of the return leg at the Emirates.

This victory provided a much-needed boost for Mikel Arteta’s side, who were coming off consecutive defeats and seeking to reach the Champions League semi-finals for the second season in a row for the first time in the club’s history. EFE
