Beijing, Aug 22 (EFE).-

Humanoid robots have captured the attention of thousands of visitors at the World Robot Conference 2024 in Beijing, where at least 27 different models are on display.

The conference, running from Aug. 21 to 25, opened on Wednesday with a ceremony featuring Tiangong 1.2max, a 1.73-meter-tall humanoid robot. Tiangong 1.2max officially launched the conference by presenting the event’s official seal.

This year’s conference mainly focuses on the integration of human-shaped robots into various aspects of daily life, including the industrial sector.

During the event, Tiangong 1.2max even visited the booth of American automotive company Tesla, where it greeted Optimus, a robot developed by the company.

The Tesla robot, which incorporates technology similar to that used in Tesla vehicles, is equipped with 28 movable joints and 11 degrees of freedom in its hands, according to local media.

Tesla claims the robot’s walking speed has improved by 30% compared to previous versions, and that its fingers are now capable of sensing and delicately manipulating objects.

Another highlight of the conference was a demonstration of a humanoid robot performing inspection and assembly tasks on an Audi car.

Developed by the Chinese company Ubtech Robotics, this robot can inspect hard-to-reach areas with “millimeter precision” and an accuracy rate of 99%.

This year’s conference, reportedly the largest since it first held in 2015, also highlights the impact of robots on daily life and medicine.

Companies from around the world are showcasing their latest innovations, including robots capable of using tools autonomously and understanding complex instructions.

In the medical field, Borui Weikang presented a series of robots designed to assist in brain surgeries.

According to the company, these robots are equipped with an intelligent surgical planning system, a tracking platform, and medical robotic arms that help surgeons perform procedures “more precisely and safely.”

Another attraction was a humanoid robot designed for entertainment tasks, such as catching plush toys in a claw machine, emphasizing the growing role of robots in leisure activities and their potential to interact more closely with humans. EFE
