Norway and Switzerland delivered thrilling matches on the final day of the UEFA Women’s Euro group stage. In a 4-3 win over Iceland, Norway secured the top spot in Group A. Despite already being eliminated, Iceland struck first with a 6th-minute goal by Jane Jonsdottir. But Norway answered quickly.

Frida Leonhardsen-Maanum added two more in the second half, both assisted by Gaupset. Iceland didn’t back down, scoring two late goals, including one in stoppage time, but Norway held on. Meanwhile, in Zurich, Switzerland drew 1-1 with Finland in dramatic fashion.

The hosts were nearly eliminated after Natalia Kuikka’s 78th-minute penalty for Finland. But in the 93rd minute, Riola Xhemaili saved the day with a close-range equalizer that sent the home crowd into celebration.

“We never gave up. We knew one chance could change everything,” Xhemaili told reporters after the match.

Switzerland advances as runners-up and could now face Spain, if Spain wins or draws against Italy on Friday.

If Spain loses, Norway will take on La Roja instead.
