Castillo and Piña lead Spain to Euro Cup Semi finals!

Athenea del Castillo and Claudia Pina led Spain to the Euro 2025 semifinals after defeating the hosts, Switzerland, in the quarter finals.
Spain had trouble scoring in the first half, particularly following Mariona Caldentey’s unsuccessful penalty kick in the eighth minute.
However, Bonmati made a spectacular back-heel pass to set up Del Castillo, who scored well into the second half to break the tie.
Shortly after, Spain’s lead was extended by Claudia Pina with a magnificent curling shot from long range that found the top corner of the net.
Alexia Putellas missed Spain’s second penalty kick late in the game, and the hosts finished with ten players after Noelle Maritz received a red card.
