About us

Back in 1987, AMERICANO newspaper was founded by Oscar Alberto Quintana, then a New Brunswick High School Biology teacher, following an effort to establish a tutoring program that paired his pupils with Rutgers students to help the former do their homework on the College Avenue Campus at Rutgers University, his Alma Mater. Such a a noble endeavor enjoyed the support of both Texas Congressman Henry B. Gonzalez and New Jersey Congressman Robert Roe of Paterson, NJ. Today, AMERICANO is a printed glossy Spanish language newspaper magazine reaching major Hispanic populations in 10 counties across New Jersey.

Furthermore, AMERICANO “El Papá de los Pollitos” has an online bilingual English and Spanish presence on the World Wide Web.
