
‘Chainsaw Man’ leads the weekend box office, Springsteen biopic disappoints.

‘Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc’, the latest anime film from Sony’s Crunchyroll platform, led the US box office this weekend with $17.2 million in its opening, while the biopic about Springteen did not have the expected reception and stayed in fourth place with $9.1 million.
‘Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc’/’Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc’, the Japanese film based on the manga ‘Chainsaw Man’ by Tatsuki Fujimoto, grossed $108 million worldwide, according to figures provided by the specialized website Box Office Mojo.

The anime film displaced ‘Black Phone 2’, the film directed by Scott Derrickson, to second place, which has grossed $49 million in the United States, for a total of $80.4 million worldwide.
The Universal Pictures film, a sequel to ‘The Black Phone’ (2021), stars Ethan Hawke, Mason Thames, Madeleine McGraw and Jeremy Davies, who reprise their roles, alongside Demián Bichir.

The romantic drama ‘Regretting You’ opened in third place with a higher-than-expected $12.8 million domestically, for a total of $22.8 million in theaters worldwide.
In fourth place was ‘Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere’, the autobiographical film of the ‘Boss’, starring actor Jeremy Allen White, known for his role in the acclaimed series ‘The Bear’.

The biopic, based on the book of the same name by Warren Zanes and directed by Scott Cooper, grossed $9.1 million in its US debut and $16.1 million worldwide.
Rounding out the top five this week is the science fiction film “TRON: Ares,” with $63.3 million in US theaters.
The Disney film, starring Jared Leto, Greta Lee, and Jeff Bridges, has already reached $123.3 million worldwide since its release on October 10.
