The family of Colorado attack to be deported!

Washington, Jun 3 (EFE).-

The family of Mohamed Sabry Soliman, under custody for allegedly attacking a group of people during a pro-Israel demonstration in Colorado, will be deported, the White House said on its Facebook page, although it did not specify their destination.

It said Soliman’s wife and five children “could be deported (Tuesday night),” in a message posted accompanied by a photo of the man’s face and another in which he is shirtless, at the scene of the attack in Boulder, Colorado, above which is written “Family arrested.”

“The wife and five children of illegal alien Mohamed Soliman – the suspect in the antisemitic firebombing of Jewish Americans – have been captured and are now in (immigration authorities) custody for expedited removal,” the White House said.

According to CNN, citing the Department of Homeland Security, the State Department revoked the visas of the wife’s family, who were also transferred to a detention center in Texas.

The news of the arrest was confirmed by Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem in a video posted on social media, where she detailed that her agency is investigating whether Soliman’s family “knew about the attack in advance or provided him with support.”

“This terrorist will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law,” the official and former governor of South Dakota added.

Soliman, 45, was arrested Sunday on charges of using a homemade flamethrower to attack a group of people injuring a dozen people.

The Egyptian national entered the US in August 2022 on a tourist visa and applied for asylum the following month. His visa had expired in February 2023, according to officials.

His wife resides in Colorado Springs, just outside Denver, with their five children, according to local news outlet Denver7. His family’s immigration status is unknown.

Soliman could face life in prison for committing a hate crime and attempted murder, the federal prosecutor in charge of the case, Bishop Grewell, said in a Monday press conference.

The prosecutor said Soliman “had planned this attack for a year and acted because he hated what he called the Zionist group.”

“When he was questioned about the attack, he said he wanted everyone to die,” he added.

According to Grewell, Soliman showed no remorse, saying “he would do it again” and recounting that he had tried to buy a firearm, but resorted to Molotov cocktails after being unable to acquire one because he did not have US citizenship.

On Sunday, Soliman allegedly used Molotov cocktails on a group of people attending a solidarity event for the hostages held by Hamas in the Gaza Strip, apparently shouting “Free Palestine!” afterward.

Authorities on Tuesday raised the number of injured from eight to 12 as a result of the attack, which still leaves two people hospitalized. Boulder District Attorney Michael Dougherty said police found Soliman had 16 more unused Molotov cocktails at his disposal, which, he said, “speaks for itself.”

Soliman will appear again before the judge Thursday, and bail was set at $10 million.

This attack occurred less than two weeks after the murder of two Israeli embassy employees in Washington DC, carried out by a young man who also expressed his support for Palestine after opening fire on the victims.

President Donald Trump condemned the incident Monday, saying on his social media platform Truth Social that Soliman “entered the country thanks to the ridiculous Open Borders Policy” of his predecessor Joe Biden, and promised to expel the alleged attacker.

Since returning to power on Jan. 20, Trump has pledged to toughen the country’s immigration policy, including large-scale deportations of irregular migrants. EFE
